COTULLA — A rise of 3 to 4 feet in the Nueces River level at Cotulla is expected by the evening of July 21, 2026. The river is expected to remain at major flood stage into the weekend.

An estimated 480 billion gallons of water fell in the Hill Country during the week prior to July 21, 2026. State agencies rescued more than 530 people across the affected areas, according to Gov. Greg Abbott. State agencies provided more than 2,700 people, 1,400 vehicles, and 115 boats for flood response efforts, according to Abbott.
