Our editorial standards
Human review and sign-off
Reporting at PureSource begins with structured research: our newsroom systems assemble the verified factual claims behind an event and the primary sources they came from. A named journalist then reviews that material against its sources, edits the article, selects and approves the image that runs with it, and signs it off. Nothing publishes without that sign-off, and the byline names the journalist who gave it.
Unbiased presentation
We report what happened, not what to think about it. Coverage avoids opinion, characterization, and editorializing; where perspectives differ, we present them by attributing each to the party that holds it.
Primary-source attribution
Rather than pointing readers to other news organizations, we work to identify and credit the original sources behind a story — named people, official statements, agencies, documents, and datasets. Quotes are attributed to the person who said them. Where a fact can be corroborated against a primary source, we link it.
The facts an article is built from
Each article surfaces the key facts it is built from, so the basis for the reporting is visible rather than hidden in the prose. Where a fact comes from a government, court, academic or standards body, the record it came from is linked.
Context without opinion
Where it adds genuine understanding, articles include a brief “Why It Matters” section that explains significance and background using verifiable facts — never speculation or commentary.
