BALTIMORE — The Kansas City Royals activated first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino from the injured list on July 10, 2026. He had been recovering from a fractured right hamate bone, which caused him to miss more than three weeks of play.

Pasquantino was not in the starting lineup for the Royals' game against the Baltimore Orioles on July 10, which was the opener of a three-game series. However, Royals manager Matt Quatraro stated that Pasquantino was available to pinch hit. Pasquantino sustained the wrist injury on June 13 when his hand made contact with the ball during a swing. At the time of the injury, the team anticipated he could miss up to six weeks.

Quatraro commended Pasquantino's effort in returning earlier than initially projected. "He set his goal really early to get back before the All-Star break, and he had to do a lot of hard work to get here," Quatraro said. Pasquantino completed three rehabilitation games for Triple-A Omaha, where he went 4 for 11 with three walks and an RBI.

Pasquantino confirmed his hand felt normal and reported minimal remaining soreness. "That's why we do it," Pasquantino said. "I owe it to my teammates, the organization, the fans, everybody to do whatever I can to get back as soon as I can."

This season, Pasquantino has a .224 batting average with six home runs and 32 RBIs. In the previous season, he led the Kansas City Royals in both homers and RBIs, setting career highs with 32 home runs and 113 RBIs.
