PUNTA CANA — Stefano Mazzoli won the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship on Sunday at the Puntacana Resort & Club's Corales Course in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The victory marked the 29-year-old Italian's first PGA Tour win.

Mazzoli finished the tournament at 20-under 268, securing the title by one stroke. He shot a 6-under 66 in the final round to complete the comeback.

Entering the day, Mazzoli trailed leader Todd Clements by four strokes. He matched that 66 from Saturday, posting consecutive rounds of 6-under par on the weekend to climb the leaderboard.

The tournament concluded with drama on the final hole. Mazzoli sank a 24-foot birdie putt on the par-4 18th hole to seal the victory.

"I’m just grateful and honored to win on tour," Mazzoli said. That was a dream since I was kid.

Mazzoli earned $720,000 for the victory, which represented 18 percent of the $4 million total prize fund. The win also awarded him 300 FedEx Cup points and a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour.

Following the final round, Mazzoli accepted PGA Tour membership. The victory earned him a PGA Tour card through 2027.

"I’ll be pleased to play this (tour) next year and see where it goes," Mazzoli said. This was his third start on the PGA Tour.

Todd Clements and Gordon Sargent tied for second place at 19-under. Clements, who is from England, led the tournament after each of the first three rounds.

Clements shot a 71 in the final round. His round included a double bogey on the par-4 13th hole and a bogey on the par-4 16th hole.

He played the final six holes in 3-over par. "Look, I’m proud of how I played," Clements said. "Gave it my all, wasn’t meant to be."

"That’s part of the game," Clements added. Sargent, who is 23 years old, shot a 67 in the final round to finish alongside Clements.

Ben James and Will Gordon tied for fourth place at 18-under. James shot a 70 in the final round, while Gordon carded a 66.

James, a former University of Virginia golfer, was making his fifth professional start. He earned his PGA Tour spot through the PGA Tour University ranking.

Will Gordon, a former Vanderbilt standout, has now recorded his third top-10 finish in 12 PGA Tour starts. He opened the final round with three consecutive birdies to reach 19-under, briefly tying for the lead.

Adrian Meronk, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 38 in the Official World Golf Ranking, finished alone in sixth at 16-under. The Polish golfer shot a 68 in the final round, staying consistent with all four rounds in the 60s.

Meronk led the field in strokes gained: approach and ranked second in strokes gained: tee-to-green. He missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th that would have moved him to 17-under.

Blades Brown tied for 11th place at 15-under. The 19-year-old shot a 70 in the final round.

Brown is playing as a special temporary member of the PGA Tour. He made six birdies through 14 holes but finished with three consecutive bogeys, including a three-putt on the 17th.

Mazzoli also moved from 127th to 39th in the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai standings with his performance.

The Corales Puntacana Championship is a co-sanctioned event with the DP World Tour. Fifty European Tour players competed in the field.

The event was played opposite the British Open and served as the final opposite-field event on the PGA Tour's 2026 calendar. The Corales Course is a Tom Fazio design that plays at par 72.

The course measures 7,670 yards. Mazzoli's victory came in his rookie season on the European Tour, adding to a background that includes winning the 2015 European Amateur Championship.

He turned professional in 2016 and has spent most of his career on the Challenge Tour, where he recorded two wins prior to this victory. Mazzoli made 14 starts on the PGA Tour this season through sponsor exemptions.

Weather conditions were favorable throughout the week, with light winds and temperatures in the mid-80s. The course played softer than usual due to rain on Thursday morning, leading to lower scoring.

There were 18 players who finished at 10-under or better. Mazzoli made 24 birdies over the four rounds and only recorded two bogeys, both coming in the third round.

He ranked first in strokes gained: putting for the week, gaining 8.7 strokes on the field with his flatstick. His final-round 66 was the joint-lowest round of the day, shared with Gordon and Sargent.
