EVIAN-LES-BAINS — Aki Iwai shot an 8-under 63 in the first round of the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship, taking the early lead at the tournament held at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France. Iwai completed her round using 27 putts on the par-71 course, which measures 6,479 yards.

The 2026 event is the fourth major on the LPGA calendar. The prize purse totals $9.1 million, and the field includes 132 players. Grace Kim is the defending champion, having won in 2025 by defeating Jeeno Thitikul in a playoff. In that 2025 championship, Kim played the last four holes of regulation in 4 under par, shot a 67 in the final round, and secured her second LPGA title.

Historical results at the event include Lydia Ko's victory in 2015. Hyo Joo Kim recorded a score of 61 in her debut at the championship in 2014 and won the event that year. Celine Boutier is the only French player to have won the Evian Championship. Nelly Korda has participated in eight Evian Championship events, achieving two top-10 finishes.

Lottie Woad, who was an amateur during the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship, finished one shot out of a playoff. Points in the LPGA's LEAP standings are awarded at the event; making the cut earns one point, and a top-25 finish is worth two points. A total of 20 points are required to earn an LPGA card. The Amundi Evian Championship is one of five major championships in women's professional golf.
