HOUSTON — Peter Yang, a west Houston resident, discovered his electricity meter number did not match the actual meter at his home after switching providers last month. Yang filed a complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
CenterPoint swapped out the meter. Yang stated he paid someone else's electric bill for almost 15 to 20 years. "I want my money back," he said.
CenterPoint called Yang, stated he overpaid and received a credit. Yang said CenterPoint has not told him how much credit he is owed. He must contact three providers to piece together more than a decade's billing records.
CenterPoint Energy stated: "Every day, our highest priority is providing the safe, reliable and affordable electric service our customers expect and deserve.
