PHILADELPHIA — Ben Rice will represent the New York Yankees in the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 13, 2026. Rice confirmed his participation on July 7 via a social media post.

The event will take place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Dan Rice will pitch to Ben Rice during the competition. Ben Rice posted a video of his first practice round on Instagram, which showed Dan Rice pitching underhand to a young Ben Rice.

Ben Rice was named a first-time All-Star on Saturday, July 4, 2026. On Monday, July 6, 2026, he hit his 25th home run of the season, which was the team-leading total for the Yankees. This home run occurred during the Yankees' 5-1 victory over the Rays at Tropicana Field, which was the first game of a four-game series.

Both Ben Rice, a lefty-hitting first baseman and designated hitter for the Yankees, and Dan Rice are Ivy League alumni. Dan Rice previously pitched at Brown University. Yankees Northeast area scout Matt Hyde attended an early scouting session where Dan Rice pitched to Ben Rice.

The last Yankee to win the Home Run Derby was Aaron Judge in 2017. Jazz Chisholm Jr. represented the Yankees in the 2025 Home Run Derby. Junior Caminero of the Rays will also participate in the 2026 Home Run Derby.

The 2026 Home Run Derby will start at 8 p.m. ET and will air on Netflix. This broadcast will mark the first time the Home Run Derby airs on the streaming service.
