QUEENS, NEW YORK — Gotham FC will play its home matches at Etihad Park in Willets Point, Queens, starting in the 2028 season. The team signed an initial five-year lease for the venue, which includes options to extend the agreement for up to 15 years.

Gotham FC estimates the move will make home games accessible to more than 3 million additional people within a 75-minute public transportation commute. The agreement with New York City FC includes a dedicated locker room for Gotham FC and allows the team to change the stadium's digital branding on matchdays.

Etihad Park, scheduled to open in the spring of 2027, will be the first soccer-specific stadium built in New York City and will have a capacity of 25,000. New York City FC will begin playing its home matches there in the 2027-28 MLS season. The stadium is designed to be all-electric. Additionally, Etihad Park is slated to host men's and women's Olympic soccer matches in 2028.

Gotham FC has played at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, since 2021. Before that, the team played at Yurcak Field at Rutgers University for a decade. The team announced plans to invest $35 million in a dedicated training facility in Whippany, New Jersey.

Carolyn Tisch Blodgett, Governor of Gotham FC, said, "From day one, our ambition has been bigger than championships. We are building one of the world's most iconic clubs and helping define the future of women's sports. Our move to Etihad Park reflects that ambition, and we are deeply grateful to New York City FC for their vision and commitment to helping make this historic moment possible." Yael Averbuch West, President of Soccer Operations for Gotham FC, said, "Moving into Etihad Park is a defining moment for this organization. Our players compete at the highest level in the world every single time they step on the pitch, and our matchday will reflect that standard. Access to dedicated facilities, permanent infrastructure and a modern stadium built for soccer in the world's most famous city creates the environment our players need to sustain and build on their excellent on-field performance."

As the NWSL Champion in both 2023 and 2025, Gotham FC averaged 8,148 fans per game at Sports Illustrated Stadium during the current season. The largest attendance recorded at Sports Illustrated Stadium this season was 11,308 for a match against Boston Legacy FC on May 9. Fans can purchase season ticket deposits for $28 for Gotham FC's 2028 season at Etihad Park.

New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani said, "From Sam Kerr's legendary four-goal comeback to Midge Purce's championship-clinching heroics, Gotham FC has given us some of the greatest moments in women's soccer. Now the next electrifying chapter of that story will be written in New York City. Bringing Gotham FC to Queens means that the young girl kicking a ball around Jackson Heights, Jamaica or the South Bronx will be able to take the train and watch some of the best players in the world in her own city."
