WORCESTER — The Worcester Bravehearts defeated the New Britain Bees 4-3 in a home game at Fitton Field on June 29, 2026. Hunter St. Denis hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to tie the game.

First baseman Hunter St. Denis's home run tied the score at 3-3. Gabe Malaret hit a triple during the contest. Third baseman James Anastasopoulos made a play at first base, while third baseman Jake Yang fielded a ground ball and recorded an out at first base. Second baseman Jacob Malfant also recorded an out at first base, and second baseman Jordan Luna backed up a play at first base.

Andrew Schmit, a 20-year-old outfielder, is from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, which is approximately 10 miles from Fitton Field. "It's nice to be home and also enjoy summer ball in a good league, too," Schmit said.

Connor Herlihy, a 21-year-old right-handed pitcher, is from Holden. Herlihy has made 11 appearances for the Bravehearts, all in relief, and holds a 1-0 record with a 2.00 ERA. He allowed 13 hits, four earned runs, and five walks, while recording 12 strikeouts in 18 innings. Herlihy is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.

"I used to go to a bunch of Bravehearts games as a kid," Herlihy said. "I remember I always wanted to play here." Bravehearts manager Joe Galvin described Herlihy's pitching style. "He's not a guy that's obviously going to light it up with the radar gun, but he knows how to pitch," Galvin said. "He gets guys out."

Herlihy appeared in 20 games for the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team during the spring, making four starts. He finished with a 1-1 record over 31 innings and led the team with four saves. The Stevens Institute of Technology is located in Hoboken, N.J. The Worcester Bravehearts currently hold a 19-15 overall record, placing them third in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League standings.
