MID-OHIO — Arrow McLaren announced its full-time driver lineup for the 2027 season on July 6, 2026, which will feature Scott Dixon, Pato O'Ward, and Felix Rosenqvist. Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel will not return to the team for the 2027 season, making O'Ward the sole returning driver from the previous lineup. Dixon and Rosenqvist have agreed to multiyear deals with the team.

Chip Ganassi Racing stated on July 2, 2026, that Dixon would not return to their team in 2027. Dixon, 45, has won the INDYCAR championship six times, and he also won the Indianapolis 500 in 2008. McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown said he considers the triple crown to be winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Indianapolis 500. Arrow McLaren is seeking its first Indianapolis 500 victory since 1976.

Rosenqvist, 34, won the 2026 Indianapolis 500 by passing David Malukas, marking the closest finish in the race's history. Rosenqvist announced in June 2026 that he was leaving Meyer Shank Racing at the end of the INDYCAR season. He had spent three years racing for Arrow McLaren previously, and the team released him three years prior to the 2027 announcement. Rosenqvist was previously a teammate of Tony Kanaan and Pato O'Ward at Arrow McLaren, and also with Dixon at Chip Ganassi Racing.

Tony Kanaan, Arrow McLaren Team Principal, addressed the decision to release Lundgaard. "I have to build. In the process, I have to gamble. [Releasing] Christian is a gamble," Kanaan said. "I will let him go, and if he lands in one of the two [top] seats that are available, people are going to look at me next year like, 'Ha ha ha, this is going to be tough.'" Lundgaard, 24, is in his second full-time year at Arrow McLaren and his fifth season overall in INDYCAR racing. He has two wins and five podium finishes in the 2026 INDYCAR season, placing him third in the standings as of July 6, 2026.

Kanaan further explained the team's direction, saying, "Christian is extremely talented. Christian is hot right now. Does Christian have Dixon's experience that I need to bring to this team — the relentless, the championship mentality?" He added that none of his current drivers had a championship, while rival teams had multiple drivers with multiple championships. Kanaan said of Rosenqvist, "He can win the 500. He's extremely fast. But Fro is the guy that is going to keep this team among the drivers together to lift the entire chemistry among them, the engineering room, and then it's going to make it to the mechanics."

Dixon expressed his anticipation for joining the team. "It was a big decision for myself, for my family, and I'm looking forward to contributing to what the team, Zak and Tony are building there," Dixon said. "As a New Zealander, being part of Bruce McLaren's legacy will be special; his spirit and grit are still very much rooted in that team, and I'm excited to carry that on." Rosenqvist also mentioned the familiarity within the team, stating, "There are a lot of familiar faces, and we've got an incredible lineup with Scott joining and Ryan returning for the 500. I think our collective experience will be a huge benefit." Ryan Hunter-Reay, who is the sporting director of Arrow McLaren, will race the fourth Arrow McLaren car in the 2027 Indianapolis 500.
