PHOENIX — Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang was not selected for the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game after rosters were announced on July 4, 2026. Turang finished third in the fan vote for National League second baseman.

Entering play on July 5, 2026, Turang had a batting average of .269 and an OPS of .829. He led MLB second basemen in runs and wRC+, and ranked second among MLB second basemen in OPS. His 3.2 Wins Above Replacement tied him for 12th among all position players in MLB.

Ozzie Albies received the starting selection for National League second baseman through the fan vote. Luis Arraez won the player vote for National League second baseman. FanGraphs data indicates Arraez has a higher WAR than Turang.

Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich stated, "Just the way that All-Star Game voting and everything is, it's just somewhat of a popularity contest as much as it is about being a good player." Turang had a .494 OPS and struck out 26 times during a 15-game stretch that concluded before player voting for the All-Star Game. His OPS dipped more than 80 points during this period.

Turang addressed his non-selection, stating, "It's not in my control. All I can do is play baseball. If it happens, it happens. Those guys who made it are deserving of it. There's guys who didn't make it who are deserving of it. That's how it is every year. I just want to control what I can and go out and play." He continued, "Getting frustrated isn't going to help anyone. It's not going to help anything. You want to get better as a player and control what you can. All I can do is play baseball. Me being frustrated is not going to change the fact that I did not make it. I'm happy for the guys that did. They deserve it, just like there's many guys who didn't make it who deserve it. That's part of it."

As of July 5, 2026, Turang recorded a hit in seven of 12 at-bats to start the series in Arizona. He went 14 for 37 with a .378 batting average over his last eight games, including one home run and four doubles.
