MEMPHIS — An investigation is underway after a vehicle caught fire near the Appling Road exit off Interstate 40 in Memphis late Saturday night. Memphis Police officers responded to the scene just before 11 p.m.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Memphis Police Department, and Memphis Fire Department were present at the scene. While crews worked to clear the area, traffic was redirected onto Interstate 40 East.

The scene has been cleared and normal traffic has resumed. Authorities have not released information on whether anyone was injured or what caused the fire.
