CLEVELAND — Abdullah Mason defeated Albert Bell by technical knockout in the 12th round at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland on July 4, 2026. Mason retained the WBO lightweight title with the victory, improving his professional record to 21-0.

Referee Mark Nelson stopped the fight 45 seconds into the 12th round after Mason knocked Bell down twice in that round. Bell's professional record fell to 28-1 following the loss.

Bell was a late replacement for Joe Cordina, who was withdrawn from the card because of a visa denial. Mason weighed 135 pounds at the weigh-in, and Bell weighed 134.9 pounds.

Speaking after the fight, Mason expressed respect for his opponent. "I feel great. Much respect to Albert for getting in there with me," said Mason, the WBO lightweight champion. He also stated, "I feel like I did show him a little mercy in the first few rounds."

Bell indicated he was experiencing physical difficulty during the later stages of the bout, saying he was having trouble breathing through his nose in the late rounds. Bell also stated, "Let me finish and let me go out on my shield at least."

Broadcast analysts Tim Bradley, Shawn Porter, and Terence Crawford argued that Bell should have been given a count after the second knockdown. Crawford characterized the second knockdown as a push rather than a true knockdown. Mason is 22 years old, while Bell is 33 years old. This event marked the inaugural card of the TNT Sports and DAZN series, "The Fight."
