GEORGIA — Four-star linebacker Sean Fox committed to the University of Kentucky on June 25, 2026. He chose Kentucky over other programs including Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Kansas.

Fox, who plays high school football at Warren Central in Indiana, is listed as a 6'5", 225-pound linebacker. He is ranked as the No. 10 linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class. On 247Sports, he is rated as a top-150 player, while Rivals Industry assigns him a 90.37 composite rating. Fox is also ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Indiana.

Clemson and Georgia were second and third, respectively, in Fox's recruitment. Notre Dame was fourth and Kansas was fifth. Fox visited Kentucky, Clemson, and Georgia two times each during his recruitment process.

Fox's commitment makes him Kentucky's fourth-highest-rated commit and the top defensive player in their current recruiting class. Prior to his commitment, Kentucky had linebackers Drew Williams and Ty Ashley committed. The Kentucky recruiting class is currently ranked 22nd nationally and ninth within the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Why It Matters

Sean Fox's commitment strengthens Kentucky's 2026 recruiting class, bringing in a highly-rated defensive player who was also sought by several other prominent collegiate football programs. His decision to choose Kentucky over other strong contenders indicates the program's ability to attract talent. This commitment also adds to Kentucky's existing linebacker pledges, Drew Williams and Ty Ashley.

The current Kentucky recruiting class now holds a national ranking of 22nd and is ninth in the SEC. For comparison, Georgia's 2026 recruiting class is ranked 14th nationally and seventh in the SEC, with 17 commits, including two five-star and six four-star recruits. Georgia has linebacker Joakim Gouda and Temorris Campbell Jr. committed. Additionally, 47% of Georgia's 2026 recruiting class consists of in-state players.
