BARCELONA — The NSN Cycling Team, formerly known as Israel-Premier Tech, participated in the Tour de France teams presentation in Barcelona on July 2, 2026. This appearance followed a rebrand and an ownership change for the team.

Never Say Never, a sports and entertainment company co-founded by Andres Iniesta, took over ownership of the team in November. The team rebranded after more than a decade operating with an Israeli identity. NSN partnered with Stoneweg, a Swiss investment platform in Geneva, and the team is registered with a Swiss license.

Head sports director Sam Bewley described the team's Tour de France start. "It's obviously a pretty exciting start to the Tour de France for us this year with NSN's home city, and the Tour de France is already such a big race, but we can really feel the excitement in our team and our organization with the Barcelona start," Bewley said. He added, "It certainly feels different from the last couple of years where we started in places that we didn't have any relationship with." Bewley noted, "We've changed our owners and our management and our sponsors, but nothing's changed in the sense of just focusing on performance."

Iniesta also commented on the event. "I think it's special for everyone because it's Barcelona and because we're all involved in this wonderful project," Iniesta said. He expressed hopes for a stage win, stating, "What we're really hoping for is to celebrate a stage win together." Regarding Biniam Girmay, Iniesta said, "That would be something very special. Or, of course, seeing Bini (Girmay) win the green jersey."

The NSN Cycling Team faced protests in 2025 related to Israel's war in Gaza. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted the team's participation at the Vuelta a Espana. Plainclothes officers escorted the team during a previous Tour de France opening presentation in Lille, and police officers guarded the team bus during the Tour de France. A protester wearing a shirt reading "Israel out of the Tour" disrupted the sprint finish of the 11th stage of the race at that time.

Bewley addressed the past disruptions. "I don't think anybody enjoyed the disruptions we had last year, but I've always just been focused on trying to get the best out of our athletes, and this remains the same this year," he said. The team operates mostly from Girona and Barcelona. Biniam Girmay, who now rides for NSN Cycling Team, secured three stage wins and the green jersey in the 2024 Tour de France while competing for Intermarche-Wanty.
