OBION COUNTY — An Obion County grand jury indicted three individuals on Monday in connection to missing funds at Obion County Nursing and Rehab. The Obion County Sheriff's Office confirmed these indictments on Tuesday.

Donna Nelson Childress and Jade Eakes were each indicted on charges of theft of property involving $60,000 to $250,000. Brianna Workman was charged with theft of property involving $250,000 or more. All three indicted individuals have bonded out.

Childress served as the administrator at the nursing home, which is located on East County Home Road. Eakes was employed in Human Resources at the facility, while Workman worked in Social Services. County officials initiated an investigation after an audit raised concerns regarding the funds.

Obion County Mayor Steve Carr first addressed the matter publicly in October 2025. Carr said the missing funds were linked to Medicare and Medicaid.
