AIRWAY HEIGHTS — Logan McIntosh, a 19-year-old from Airway Heights, was sentenced on June 30, 2025, to 30 days in jail and two years of probation. The sentencing in Whitman County Superior Court in Colfax followed his guilty plea to an amended misdemeanor reckless driving charge.

Prosecutors dropped a felony eluding charge in exchange for McIntosh's guilty plea. In addition to the active jail time, McIntosh received a suspended jail sentence of nearly one year, which could be imposed if he violates the terms of his probation. Upon his release from jail, he is ordered to serve the two-year probation term.

The charges stemmed from a police chase on March 6, 2025, when Whitman County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested McIntosh after he led them on a motorcycle pursuit. Court documents state that McIntosh reached speeds in excess of 100 mph on his motorcycle during the incident. The pursuit began when McIntosh failed to yield to deputies while traveling on U.S. Highway 195 near Colfax. Police later lost sight of McIntosh's motorcycle as he continued northbound on U.S. Highway 195.

Law enforcement subsequently received a tip from a citizen who reported seeing McIntosh hike onto a property north of Spangle. McIntosh was detained by a man in Spangle before his arrest by deputies. According to court records, McIntosh's criminal history includes reckless driving, speeding, failure to yield to emergency vehicles, driving without a valid driver's license, and failure to obey traffic signals.
