GREECE — Sebastien Ogier won the Acropolis Rally Greece on June 28, 2026, earning 35 points and reducing his deficit to championship leader Elfyn Evans from 61 to 33 points in the World Rally Championship standings. Ogier, the reigning World Rally Championship title holder, now has 125 points in the overall standings.

Thierry Neuville finished second at the rally, 58.3 seconds behind Ogier. Takamoto Katsuta secured third place, finishing 3 minutes and 4.8 seconds behind the winner. Josh McErlean finished fourth in the event. Evans, who leads the championship with 158 points, finished seventh at the Acropolis Rally Greece.

"Arriving here I knew it was a turning point of the season, when I knew I needed to outscore Elfyn [Evans] and in my head I was targeting a minimum of 10 points that we needed to catch to slowly get back," Ogier said. "It was a perfect weekend in the end and it was exactly what we needed for our championship to bring us back in the game."

Evans encountered issues during the event. He suffered a puncture on Saturday's final stage and another puncture on Sunday morning. "Things were looking pretty okay by Saturday afternoon," Evans said. "We struggled a bit with the puncture on the last one yesterday and another one this morning."

Neuville also experienced a puncture during the rally. Jon Armstrong retired from the event after suffering a double puncture and a turbo failure. "We definitely didn't make it easy for ourselves but honestly, a massive thank to the whole team and every single person who kept believing in us," McErlean said. "It's been a very tough start to the year and a big thanks to this man beside me [Treacy]."

Ogier is competing in a part-time World Rally Championship campaign. He has secured nine World Rally Championship titles and has won 69 career World Rally Championship events. Katsuta holds 151 points in the World Rally Championship standings.
