PALM HARBOR, FLORIDA — Matt Fitzpatrick won the Valspar Championship by one shot after sinking a 14-foot putt on the 18th hole to birdie it. The victory marked Fitzpatrick's third PGA Tour win.

The 31-year-old professional golfer carded a three-under-par 68 in the final round to finish on 11 under par at the tournament. David Lipsky finished second, one shot behind Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick's victory was confirmed after two groups completed their rounds. The win came after his previous PGA Tour victory in 2023 and followed his U.S. Open championship in 2022.

The final round on the Copperhead course at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Florida, saw multiple lead changes. Sungjae Im held the 54-hole lead entering the final day.

At the turn in the final round, Fitzpatrick was tied for the lead according to the leaderboard. He missed four birdie opportunities from inside 10 feet during a seven-hole stretch around the turn.

Fitzpatrick holed a 30-foot birdie putt on the 15th hole to take the lead. David Lipsky made a 7-foot birdie on the 14th hole to tie Fitzpatrick for the lead.

On the decisive 18th hole, Lipsky had a birdie putt from just outside 30 feet that missed to the left. Lipsky closed with a 70 in the final round, matching his best score of the week.

"I'll be honest, it wasn't an ideal putt [on 18]. I wouldn't say I was overly keen on it considering my putting performance but to get it done was special," Fitzpatrick said. "I'm coming away from this week delighted with where my game's at but there's stuff I want to improve."

Fitzpatrick won the DP World Tour Championship in November 2025. He said he will take a two-week break before preparing for the Masters.

Fitzpatrick ranked second in strokes gained in approach play at the tournament. He ranked first in scrambling around the greens and fifth in performance off the tee.

Five players shared the lead at some point during the tournament. Fitzpatrick was ranked sixth in the Official World Golf Ranking as of March 2026, up from 61st in the world a year ago. His world ranking had fallen as low as 85th a month later a year ago.
