LONDON — The All England Club will introduce video review technology at Wimbledon for the first time at the 2026 Championships. Players will be allowed to challenge certain calls made by the chair umpire during matches.

The video review technology will be available on Centre Court and No. 1 Court throughout the tournament. It will also be available on four other show courts when they host singles matches: No. 2 Court, No. 3 Court, Court 12 and Court 18.

Players will be able to ask umpires to review whether a ball bounced twice or whether a ball touched an opponent's racquet or body. A review will be allowed at the end of a point if a player feels an opponent may be guilty of hindrance. There will be no limit on the number of reviews a player can request.

Wimbledon will add visual indicators on scoreboards to show electronic line-calling 'out' and 'fault' calls. Players will not be able to challenge the accuracy of electronic line calling.

The All England Club introduced electronic line calling at Wimbledon in 2025, ending the role played by line judges over the previous 147 years. "This enhancement has been made as a result of feedback following the adoption of live electronic line-calling last year," said the All England Club.

The US Open has been using video reviews since 2023. The Australian Open has been using video review technology since 2025. At the 2026 Australian Open, the net posts flashed red to give the crowd a visual cue whenever a ball was out.

Daniil Medvedev used a review system against Jack Draper at Indian Wells last week. During the rally, Jack Draper stretched his arms wide to signal his belief that Medvedev's forehand was long. Umpire Aurélie Tourte watched a replay on her tablet and ruled Draper was guilty of hindrance, awarding the point to Medvedev. Jack Draper said he did not believe his gesture had been enough to distract Medvedev.

The All England Club announced that daily capacity at its Roehampton qualifying competition will increase from 3,500 to 4,000. The 2026 Wimbledon tournament begins on June 29, 2026.
