BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS — James Hagens recorded two assists in Boston College's 4-3 overtime loss to UConn in the Hockey East semifinals. The sophomore's season ended with the defeat as UConn advanced to the conference title game against Merrimack.

Both of Hagens's assists came on goals scored by Dean Letourneau during the semifinal matchup. After the game concluded, Hagens embraced his brother Michael on the ice at TD Garden.

The 19-year-old forward finished his sophomore season with 23 goals and 47 points in 34 games, improving from his freshman campaign when he posted 37 points in 37 games. Hagens, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 193 pounds, was selected seventh overall in the 2025 NHL Draft.

"He's got so many more dimensions to his game. He's added to his offensive game. But he's really added to his complete game," said Greg Brown, head coach of Boston College men's hockey.

Brown said that Hagens played primarily on the wing during the season. The song "Dirty Water" played over the speakers during the semifinal game at TD Garden.
