The concept of "lazy bartending," which includes ready-to-drink cocktails, canned spirits, and do-it-yourself infusion kits, has become a mainstream trend in the drinks industry. Companies are offering products ranging from canned margaritas to dehydrated fruit infusion kits to make cocktails more portable and easier to prepare.
The Distilled Spirits Council found that spirits-based ready-to-drink products posted 16.4% sales growth last year in the United States, making them the fastest-growing spirits category even as the broader alcohol market softened. Major spirits brands including Malibu, Bacardi, and Absolut have introduced ready-to-drink cocktail mixes nationwide.
Grand View Research estimated the global ready-to-drink cocktail market at about $3.7 billion in 2025. Grand View Research projected the global ready-to-drink cocktail market will exceed $10 billion by 2033.
On The Rocks bases its business on delivering high-quality, crafted cocktails in bottled or canned formats requiring no bartender. "Pop it or crack the can, pour it over ice or drink," said Daniel May, senior brand director at On The Rocks.

The founders of Infuse & Booze developed the infusion jar idea after finding mixing drinks outdoors during camping trips to be tedious. Infuse & Booze's cocktail infusion jars can make eight to ten cocktails each and are designed for refrigerator storage until use.
NielsenIQ data shows that Americans are visiting bars less often and spending more per visit due to rising costs. Younger consumers seek high-quality drinks without the effort, bar tab, or late-night outing associated with traditional cocktails.
Modern cocktail occasions often occur outside traditional bars, such as casual gatherings, game nights, or smaller social events. Caroline Begley said younger drinkers drink differently and choose beverages intentionally based on occasion and vibe.
