HARRIS COUNTY — A 13-year-old student at a Cy-Fair Independent School District school in Harris County disclosed to her therapist that she was sexually assaulted by a male classmate on campus. The disclosure prompted police involvement and a district investigation.

The student’s mother, whose identity is being withheld, alleged that the misconduct escalated over several school days. "By last Monday or Tuesday, he was touching her upper thigh," she said. She added that by Wednesday, the boy had messaged her daughter through Google Chat, asking, "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" After the girl agreed, he asked if she was a "freak," to which she replied, "kind of." She said her daughter told her, "Mom, I felt so uncomfortable, it's not how I meant it to be."

According to the mother, her daughter reported that the boy placed a jacket over his lap and pulled her hand over, resulting in repeated unwanted touching. The mother also shared text messages she says were exchanged between the two students, including one in which the boy wrote, "I'm sorry I made you touch me," during class.

The morning after learning of the alleged incidents, the student’s parents met with the school principal. "By the time we did call police and they did come to our house Monday night, they were very clear that they should have been called by the school on Friday," the mother said. She added, "We had to push way harder than we should have had to just to have this boy not be in the same classroom."

Cy-Fair ISD said the incident remains under investigation, that safety measures have been implemented, and that the district is cooperating with police. The district also stated that consequences will be applied in accordance with its code of conduct.
