ST. LOUIS — Anthony Lee-Armstrong, 19, was arrested on May 23, 2026, in connection with an alleged road rage shooting in St. Louis on May 17, 2026. The incident left a pregnant woman and a man injured and their vehicle damaged.
Lee-Armstrong faces two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, and one count of first-degree property damage, according to jail records. He is being held without bond, per court documents.
The shooting occurred near Russell Boulevard and South Jefferson Avenue in St. Louis. A pregnant woman was shot in the upper back while driving home from a prenatal appointment; she was 11 weeks pregnant at the time. The male passenger sustained shrapnel injuries to his chin and shoulder. Their vehicle suffered ballistic damage.
According to a probable cause statement, the incident began after a near-collision involving the victims’ vehicle and two sedans—a Volkswagen and a black Honda—in a QuickTrip parking lot. Surveillance video allegedly showed both vehicles following the family’s car, with gunshots fired from the driver’s side of the Volkswagen sedan.
A license plate reader identified Lee-Armstrong as the registered owner of the Volkswagen. The female victim identified him in a lineup as the driver of that vehicle and reported that he made “racist statements” toward her and the male victim during the encounter. A second witness, who was inside the Honda sedan, also identified Lee-Armstrong as the Volkswagen’s driver.
The St. Louis Police Department received a 911 call from the female victim, who reported that “two black vehicles occupied by white males just shot up her vehicle” with a young child inside. The call prompted an immediate investigation that led to Lee-Armstrong’s arrest six days after the incident.
The family was followed by the Volkswagen and the black Honda after the near-collision, according to the probable cause statement. Gunfire came from the driver’s side of the Volkswagen sedan, as captured on surveillance video.
