MILAN — AC Milan will host Cagliari at San Siro on Sunday, 24 May at 20:45 CEST in matchday 38 of Serie A, with a win securing qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League. The hosts will wear their new 2026/27 home kit for the fixture.

Milan sit on 70 points, level with Roma, while Cagliari are 14th on 40 points after securing Serie A survival with a 2-1 win over Torino in their previous match. Milan have not won any of their last three home games.

"Tomorrow is the last game of the season, and the most important for us, for whoever works at Milanello and Casa Milan, and for all the fans, who have also been by our side and supported the guys. It won't be easy, we've got 100 minutes to get the job done. The mistake we must not make is approaching the match with less focus than we did in Genoa. The stadium will be full, we know what awaits us, and we'll need the support of the crowd." Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri said.

Alexis Saelemaekers, Pervis Estupiñán and Rafael Leão are available after returning from suspension. Luka Modrić trained with the group and is available to play wearing a protective mask, having been on the bench at Marassi in the win against Genoa. Athekame, Fofana, Gabbia and Modrić are one booking away from suspension.

Leão is Milan's top scorer in Serie A this season with nine goals and has scored six Serie A goals against Cagliari, tied with his tally against Fiorentina. He scored early in the second half when Milan beat Cagliari 1-0 on January 2.

Milan have been unbeaten in 41 of their last 42 Serie A matches against Cagliari, winning 31 and drawing 10, while scoring 83 goals across those fixtures. Cagliari's only Serie A win against Milan in that period was a 2-1 victory at the Sant'Elia on 28 May 2017. Milan have won seven of their last eight final-day Serie A matches, including a 3-0 home win over Cagliari in August 2020. Cagliari have lost five of their last six final-day Serie A matches.

"We are heading to Milan to play our game and finish the season on a positive note. They have an important objective to fight for, but I hope that our freedom from any pressure will allow us to play with more confidence and composure. We want to play with spirit and make our fans proud." Cagliari head coach Fabio Pisacane said. Pavoletti, Idrissi, Liteta, Folorunsho and Kılıçsoy are unavailable for the visitors.

Marco Guida of Torre Annunziata will referee the match, assisted by Fabiano Preti and Filippo Bercigli, with Giovanni Ayroldi as fourth official. Rosario Abisso is the video assistant referee, assisted by Daniele Chiffi.
