HOUSTON — The Houston Parks and Recreation Department will begin Phase I of its 2026 summer pool schedule on Saturday, May 23, 2026, opening select aquatic centers on weekends only. The Phase I locations will remain open through Labor Day on Monday, September 1, 2026.
Pools will operate on Saturdays and Sundays through June 7, 2026. Saturday swim hours will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday swim hours will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Holiday swim hours for Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day and Labor Day will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on those dates.
Under the Phase I schedule, the northeast and southeast areas of Houston each have two pools open, and the northwest and southwest areas each have three pools open. Ten aquatic centers across the city will participate in Phase I operations beginning May 23.
The aquatic centers opening under Phase I include Love Aquatic Center at 1000 West 12th Street, Memorial Aquatic Center at 6402 Arnot Street, T.C. Jester Aquatic Center at 4205 T.C. Jester Boulevard, and Alief Aquatic Center at 11903 Bellaire Boulevard.
Northline Aquatic Center at 6911 Nordling Road and Tuffly Aquatic Center at 3200 Russell Street will also operate during Phase I, along with Emancipation Aquatic Center at 3018 Emancipation Avenue, MacGregor Aquatic Center at 5225 Calhoun Road, Mason Aquatic Center at 541 South 75th Street and Wilson Memorial Aquatic Center at 100 Gilpin Street. Each of these locations will follow the same weekend operating hours established under the Phase I schedule.
Officials said additional pools could be added during the early portion of the season as more seasonal staff members are hired and trained. Phase II of the city's 2026 summer swim schedule is expected to begin on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, and additional details about expanded pool operations and locations are expected to be released closer to that date.
