CATOOSA COUNTY — A fire destroyed a barn on Dennis Pierce Road in Catoosa County on the morning of July 20, 2026. County E-911 received calls reporting the barn fire just before 11 a.m. on July 20, 2026.

County Fire Department firefighters from stations 4, 3, and 1, along with command staff, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters arrived to find a large barn collapsed and fully involved with flames.

A truck and a tractor were destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.

The Tri-Community Volunteer Department provided mutual aid with equipment and manpower. Puckett EMS provided standby medical coverage at the scene.

Fire investigators from the County Department are members of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association, International Association of Arson Investigators, and Northwest Georgia Fire Investigators Association. The County Department's Fire Investigation Unit has a five-day turn-around time for fire reports and investigation reports, with larger incidents potentially taking longer.

The fire was brought under control within two hours of arrival. Firefighters remained on scene for several additional hours to ensure hot spots were fully extinguished. The structure was a free-standing wooden barn used for equipment storage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no suspects have been identified. The property is located in an unincorporated area of County, near the city of Ringgold. Weather conditions at the time included temperatures in the mid-80s with low humidity, which may have contributed to the rapid spread of flames.
