HOUSTON — Feels-like temperatures in parts of the Houston area reached the triple digits on Sunday, with four weather advisories in effect across four regions. Rain chances are expected to increase through Memorial Day, with some areas north of the city possibly receiving up to 5 inches of rainfall over the next five days.

A slight chance of rain was forecast for areas north of Houston, particularly in Livingston and north of Huntsville, as well as for areas near the coast. Rain was expected to move into areas north of Houston by 10 p.m.

Rain chances will increase Monday afternoon and continue through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, holding through Memorial Day. Some areas north of Houston could receive 5 inches of rainfall over the next five days.

The four weather advisories cover four separate regions across the Houston area, where heat index values have climbed into the triple digits. The combination of high temperatures and elevated humidity has produced feels-like readings above 100 degrees in several locations.

The forecast indicates a gradual shift from heat-dominated conditions to a wetter pattern as the workweek progresses. Communities north of Houston, including Livingston and the area north of Huntsville, are positioned to see the earliest rainfall, with coastal areas also under a slight chance of precipitation.

The extended rain outlook through Memorial Day points to sustained shower activity across the region, with the heaviest totals projected for northern portions of the Houston area. Residents in those northern zones face the highest rainfall accumulation potential during the five-day window.
