Austin police arrested Dalin Harris in connection to a shooting that injured six people outside Sam's BBQ in East Austin on April 26. Harris is facing felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct by discharging a firearm.

The shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 12th Street, according to the Austin Police Department.

Investigators believe a fight between Harris and 24-year-old Wesley Brown escalated to an exchange of gunfire, according to an arrest affidavit. The fight stemmed from an argument over a $200 Airbnb payment. Video from the incident showed Harris firing toward Brown, who appeared to also be holding a gun.

Investigators linked Harris to the shooting after hospital security footage showed someone matching his description arriving after the incident, wearing clothing and having physical attributes matching the person seen in the video attacking Brown, according to the affidavit. Brown was arrested on April 27 and is facing a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his head, and another sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of the back, according to the affidavit. A third victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right calf, a fourth was wounded in the right buttock, and a fifth was struck in the left leg. Harris sustained gunshot wounds to his left tricep and left leg, according to the affidavit. None of the injuries sustained by the victims or Harris were life-threatening.

The incident took place outside Sam's BBQ, a restaurant in the 2000 block of East 12th Street. Police did not identify any additional suspects in connection with the shooting, according to the Austin Police Department. Harris's charges include both aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct by discharging a firearm, both felony-level offenses.
