WASHINGTON, D.C. — National Police Week 2026 will take place from May 10 through May 16 in Washington, D.C., with a series of memorial services, ceremonies, and tributes honoring fallen law enforcement officers and police K-9s. Events will be held at locations including the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, the National Mall, and Nationals Park.

The week's observances begin on Monday, May 11, when the National Police K-9 Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at 450 F Street NW, featuring a wreath-laying tribute for fallen police K-9s. That same day, the Tent City Takeover Kickoff Party will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. at Solace Outpost at 71 Potomac Avenue SE, with Tent City remaining open May 11–13 and entertainment continuing throughout the week.

On Tuesday, May 12, the Police Unity Tour Bicycle Ride-In will arrive at the Memorial at 2:00 p.m., followed by the Police Unity Tour Ceremony at 3:00 p.m. The Honor Guard Reception, hosted by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to welcome honor guard members and Police Unity Tour participants.

The 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 8:00 p.m. on the National Mall between 4th and 7th Streets and Madison and Jefferson Drives. The vigil will be livestreamed.

Thursday, May 14, features several events. The Annual Steve Young National Honor Guard and Pipe Band Tribute will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with honor guard teams and pipe bands from across the United States and Canada performing ceremonial tributes. Day 1 of the C.O.P.S. National Police Survivors' Conference will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Washington Hilton Hotel, offering support sessions, mental health resources, and opportunities to connect. The Police Vehicle Display and Shine, featuring vintage and classic police vehicles, will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the U.S. Capitol Reflection Pool. The C.O.P.S. Blue Honor Gala will be held at the Washington Hilton Hotel from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., featuring dinner, guest speakers, music, and dancing to honor fallen officers.

On Friday, May 15, the 45th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, sponsored by the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police and its Auxiliary. At 6:45 p.m., the Washington Nationals and the Memorial Fund will host a Police Week–themed game against the Baltimore Orioles at Nationals Park, with a portion of ticket proceeds supporting the Memorial Fund.

Day 2 of the C.O.P.S. National Police Survivors' Conference will continue on Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Hilton Hotel. The Nationals will host a second Police Week–themed game against the Orioles at 4:05 p.m. benefiting the Memorial Fund.

The National Law Enforcement Museum will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the week, and the Memorial will remain open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
