EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY — FIFA opened a new round of ticket sales for all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup, including front-row seat categories, at 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday at FIFA.com/tickets. The release covers Categories 1, 2 and 3 along with the front-row inventory.

Tickets in the new inventory will remain on sale through the end of the tournament, with additional tickets released to the public on an ongoing basis through the World Cup final in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19. More than five million tickets have already been sold for the tournament. The previous attendance record is 3.5 million, set in 1994 when the games were last played in the United States.

FIFA put World Cup tickets on sale in December at prices ranging from $140 for Category 3 in the first round to $8,680 for the final. When sales reopened on April 1, FIFA raised ticket prices to as much as $10,990. The December sale priced tickets for the U.S.–Paraguay game at $1,120, $1,940 and $2,735, while seats for the Iran–New Zealand match were priced at $140, $380 and $450.

A document distributed to local organisers on April 10 said 40,934 tickets had been bought for the U.S. opener against Paraguay on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The same document said 50,661 tickets had been bought for the Iran–New Zealand match on April 15 at SoFi Stadium. FIFA projected the capacity at SoFi Stadium to be about 69,650.

A report from The Athletic said thousands of tickets have not been sold for high-profile matches, including the U.S. opener with Paraguay at SoFi Stadium. The document listed about 10,000 fewer tickets sold for the U.S. vs Paraguay match than for the Iran–New Zealand group-play match at the same stadium.

The World Cup will start on June 11 with an opening fixture between Mexico and South Africa. Canada and Mexico will cohost the tournament with the U.S. Fans attending finals matches at MetLife Stadium will pay $150 for a round-trip train ride from Manhattan's Penn Station to the venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey, nearly 12 times the regular $12.90 fare.
