LIVERPOOL — Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of the Premier League season after sustaining a hamstring injury in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace. The forward was substituted in the 60th minute of the match.

Salah has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment, Egyptian Football Association official Ibrahim Hassan said. Hassan added that Salah would be fit for the 2026 World Cup, which begins on June 11. Salah is determined to recover in time for the tournament.

Salah applauded the crowd and waved to all four sides of the stadium as he walked off the pitch. He is in his ninth season with the club and is Liverpool's third-highest goal scorer of all time, having recorded 12 goals and nine assists across all competitions this season.

"Another win and another injury," Liverpool manager Arne Slot said when commenting on the substitution. "It's the story of our season."

Speaking after the match, Slot addressed the severity of the injury. "It's too early to say, but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch. For Mo [Salah] to leave the pitch, it shows you something, but we have to wait and see how bad it is," he said.

Liverpool will visit Manchester United on May 3, host Chelsea on May 9, travel to Aston Villa on May 17 and close the home schedule against Brentford on May 24. Salah previously injured his shoulder in a 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final.
