BARCELONA — Robert Lewandowski's contract with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of the season, leaving his future undecided after the club's Champions League quarter-final exit to Atlético Madrid. The defeat ended the Poland striker's bid for a second Champions League title this season.

Lewandowski, who earns €400,000 per week at Barcelona, will turn 38 in four months. Reports indicate he would need to accept a pay cut to extend his deal with the club.

"It's hard to say anything after a game like this. I don't know if the words I find would reflect how we feel. Soccer can be cruel." Lewandowski said following the quarter-final loss.

Asked about his future, he declined to address the topic. "I don't want to talk about offers and my future. The remaining matches and the goals are more important." he said.

In the two-legged tie against Atlético Madrid, Lewandowski was substituted at half-time in the first leg. In the second leg, he entered the pitch in the 68th minute and took one shot.

Across the campaign, Lewandowski has scored 12 goals in La Liga and 17 in all competitions. He scored twice against Newcastle earlier in the season.

Lewandowski has collected league titles at every senior club of his career. He won one title with Lech Poznań and two with Borussia Dortmund before claiming eight consecutive league titles with Bayern Munich. Since joining Barcelona, he has added two more league titles to his record.
