FRISCO, TEXAS — The Dallas Cowboys signed kicker Brandon Aubrey to a four-year contract extension that makes him the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. The deal pays an average of $7 million per year and includes $20 million guaranteed, according to agents Todd France and A.J. Stevens.

Aubrey's signing bonus is $8.25 million, according to a source. The average annual value surpasses the $6.5 million deal the Houston Texans gave Ka'imi Fairbairn earlier this offseason, which had set the mark for kickers. Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker retains the largest guarantee among kickers at $17.75 million.

The Cowboys opened contract talks with Aubrey in summer 2025 but were unable to reach an agreement. The team offered a contract close to $7 million per year, while France's asking price was around $10 million, according to a source. The market for restricted free agents then closed without any team signing Aubrey to an offer sheet.

Aubrey joins quarterback Dak Prescott, another client of France, as the highest-paid player at his position. Prescott signed a four-year extension in 2024 that paid him an average of $60 million per year.

Aubrey, who turned 31 in March 2026, joined the Cowboys in 2023 after a two-year run in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions. He had never kicked competitively before joining the Stallions. Before his football career, Aubrey was a first-round pick of Toronto FC in Major League Soccer in 2017 after playing for the Notre Dame soccer team.

Since joining the Cowboys in 2023, Aubrey has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons. Over his NFL career, he has converted 112 of 127 field goal attempts, a rate of 88.2%, with a career-long of 65 yards. He has made six field goals from 60 yards or more, the most in NFL history.

In the 2025 season, Aubrey made 36 of 42 field goal attempts. His six misses were from distances of 51 yards or longer. He made 11 of 17 attempts from 50 yards or more.
