CARDIFF — Wales head coach Sean Lynn named his matchday squad for Saturday's Women's Six Nations match against France at Cardiff Arms Park, recalling winger Jasmine Joyce and handing scrum-half Seren Lockwood her first international start. The match is set to kick off at 15:35 BST.

Joyce, Wales' most decorated player, was dropped from the team for last week's defeat to Scotland in Cardiff. She returns on the wing to replace Lisa Neumann, who will miss the rest of the tournament with a hamstring injury.

Lockwood was promoted from the bench to replace veteran Keira Bevan in the starting lineup. "Seren changed the game for me when she came on [against Scotland]. She brought pace, energy and she's a livewire around the breakdown, making line-breaks and breaking sides down defensively," Lynn said.

He added: "There's a big role for Keira to be playing off the bench and she has been superb this week, putting her arm around and helping Seren. That's what we want, competition in this squad."

Lynn also reflected on last week's result. "I know we didn't get the win on Saturday, everybody wants that win, but the performance and the Test match is what we wanted, being competitive - that's what we want in every fixture," he said. He added: "As a group we've got that belief, but the belief is about making sure that we're being consistent with our performances and our processes."

Lleucu George will take over goal-kicking duties for Wales. Lock Natalia John replaces Alaw Pyrs on the bench in the only other change to the matchday squad.

The starting XV reads: Powell, Singleton, Cox, Keight, Joyce, George, Lockwood, Pyrs, Jones, Tuipulotu, Aiono, Crabb, Lewis, Williams (captain) and King. The replacements are Reardon, Davies, Rose, John, Metcalfe, Evans, Bevan and Dallavalle.

Wales are seeking their first victory over France in the Women's Six Nations in ten years. Wales have won one of their last eleven games in the championship, with their most recent victory coming against Italy in the final round of the 2024 tournament. France top the standings after a six-try victory over Italy in Grenoble. The Guinness Women's Six Nations runs from April 11 to May 17.
