Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard said he is not focused on his upcoming contract extension after the Clippers' season-ending loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Leonard, who is entering the final season of his contract, is eligible to extend for two additional seasons starting the day after the NBA Finals.

"I never thought about it too much other than questions asked. I think we're going to be in the clear. I'm not stressing it," he said. "We'll have our discussions when that time comes."

The Clippers can offer Leonard a maximum of $126.1 million for a two-season extension once the window opens after the Finals. Leonard scored 21 points in Wednesday's loss to the Warriors but made only one shot over the final 16 minutes.

He had five turnovers in the second half, the most he has recorded in any half since 2019. Asked about the elimination, Leonard was blunt. "Let me cry about this loss a little bit more," he said.

Leonard posted career-best scoring numbers this season, averaging 27.9 points per game, the highest mark of his career. He finished in the top 10 in the league in field goal percentage, 2-point percentage, and 3-point percentage.

Leonard also appeared in 66 games this season, the second most he has played in a single season since the 2016-17 campaign. With him on the court this season, the Clippers had a plus-7.8 point differential per 100 possessions. With him off the court, the team had a minus-6.9 differential.
