TORONTO — The Toronto Raptors affixed faux icicles to Drake's regular courtside seats at Scotiabank Arena before their home game Sunday night, a pregame display the team posted to social media with the caption "Drake's seats froze." Drake liked the Raptors' Instagram post and shared an image of the iced-over seat display on his own Instagram Story.

The courtside chairs that received the faux-ice treatment are the same seats Drake regularly occupies when he attends Raptors home games. The decorative icicles were removed from the chairs by tipoff, and Drake's seats remained empty throughout the contest. The Raptors went on to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 136-101.

The icy imagery appeared to be tied to Drake's upcoming studio album, "Iceman," which was initially rumored to be set for release in 2025. The project would mark Drake's first solo album since fall 2023.

The Raptors named the Toronto-born artist as the franchise's global ambassador in 2013, a role reflected in the team's branding and game-day presentations over the years. Drake sat in those same courtside seats during the Raptors' NBA Finals run in 2019.

In March 2016, Drake appeared on the cover of Slam Magazine alongside then-Raptors players DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. The franchise also held a dedicated "Drake Night" at its home arena that year. Since 2015, the Raptors have incorporated a black-and-gold color scheme into their uniforms as a nod to Drake's October's Very Own brand, though that design was absent from the team's uniform rotation this season. The Raptors qualified for the NBA playoffs in 2026, their first postseason appearance since 2022.
