SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA — WWE Raw aired its final episode before WrestleMania 42 on April 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM ET from Sacramento, California, featuring face-to-face confrontations and promotional segments for the upcoming two-night event in Las Vegas. The show included a meeting between Seth Rollins and Gunther ahead of their WrestleMania Night 1 match, as well as a segment between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, who are scheduled to compete on Night 2.

Rollins and Gunther met face to face on the April 13 broadcast to build toward their Night 1 contest. Femi and Lesnar also appeared on the program following a contract signing on the previous week's Raw that had devolved into a brawl in which swivel chairs were thrown.

Roman Reigns also took the microphone on the April 13 program ahead of his challenge for CM Punk's World Heavyweight Championship, set as the Sunday main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Reigns has competed in ten WrestleMania main events entering this year's event. At WrestleMania XL in 2024, he competed in the main event on both nights, tying Hulk Hogan's record for most WrestleMania main event matches with his eighth appearance on Night 1 and surpassing it with his ninth on Night 2. He added a tenth main event appearance at WrestleMania in 2025.

Reigns and Lesnar share an extensive WrestleMania history. At WrestleMania 34 in 2018 in New Orleans, Lesnar defeated Reigns in the main event. At WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Reigns defeated Lesnar in a Winner Take All match that unified the WWE Championship and Universal Championship. That bout lasted approximately 12 minutes and was the third WrestleMania main event contested between the two.

Reigns also defeated The Undertaker in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, a non-title bout after which The Undertaker left his gloves, coat, and hat in the ring at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

WrestleMania debuted on March 31, 1985, at Madison Square Garden in New York before an attendance of 19,121 fans and has since expanded into a two-night format. More than 450 matches have taken place across 42 WrestleMania events.
