NEW YORK — The Dallas Wings hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Monday in New York. The selection comes after the Wings finished the previous season with a 10-34 record, tying for last place with the Chicago Sky.

Mock drafts throughout the offseason have projected four players as the top pick: Lauren Betts, Awa Fam, Azzi Fudd, and Olivia Miles. In the final mock draft before the event, Fudd is projected as the No. 1 selection. Miles was the projected No. 1 pick in the prior week's mock draft before Fudd moved to the top spot in the final projection.

Betts led the UCLA Bruins to the 2026 NCAA women's basketball national championship and was named the NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Player. Fam, a 19-year-old Spanish center who stands 6 feet 4 inches tall, has professional experience playing with Valencia in Spain. She also represented the Spanish national team in a FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament last month, where Spain lost to the United States.

Miles averaged a career-best 19.6 points per game this season for TCU while making 73 three-pointers. She recorded six triple-doubles during the season, including one in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The draft will take place during a compressed free agency period that resulted from a new collective bargaining agreement reached late in the offseason. Under the new agreement, WNBA teams must carry 12 players and are allowed two developmental roster spots.

The Wings, led by general manager Curt Miller, have guard Arike Ogunbowale on the roster. Ogunbowale has spent her entire WNBA career with the franchise. The No. 1 overall pick has produced immediate impact players in consecutive years: Aliyah Boston was the top selection in 2023, Caitlin Clark went first in 2024, and Paige Bueckers was taken No. 1 in 2025. Bueckers was named WNBA Rookie of the Year that season.
