LONDON — Manchester City defeated Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in a Premier League match. Rayan Cherki set up two goals within a six-minute span, and Jérémy Doku added a third to complete the victory.

Cherki, who joined City from Lyon in a £35 million transfer, delivered a cross that led to Nico O'Reilly's opening goal. He then provided a pass that set up Marc Guéhi to score shortly after. The two assists brought Cherki's season total to ten.

Doku sealed the result after dispossessing Chelsea's Moisés Caicedo at the edge of the penalty area and scoring City's third goal. The match included eight minutes of stoppage time at the end.

Chelsea were without vice captain Enzo Fernández, who was serving the second game of a club suspension for voicing a desire to live in Madrid. City have signed Cherki, Guéhi, and Antoine Semenyo since last summer.

City have scored nine goals without conceding in three matches since their UEFA Champions League defeat against Real Madrid last month.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Bournemouth beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Before the day's results, City trailed Arsenal by seven goals in the Premier League goal-difference column. After both results, Arsenal's goal-difference advantage was reduced to three goals. Arsenal have lost three of their past four matches in all competitions, including the Carabao Cup final against City last month.

City also have an unplayed match against Crystal Palace remaining on their schedule. Arsenal and City are set to meet at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday, and an Arsenal win in that fixture would move them nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
