MINNEAPOLIS — Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows was placed on the 10-day injured list after suffering a broken arm and a concussion in a collision with teammate Riley Greene during Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis. The team recalled Wenceel Perez from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding roster move.

Meadows and Greene collided while both attempted to field a shallow fly to left center off the bat of Minnesota's Josh Bell. Greene caught the ball, but Meadows remained on the ground after the impact with blood on his face. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch attributed the blood to Meadows biting the inside of his cheek during the crash.

Meadows received five stitches for a cut to his cheek. He sustained a fracture of the radius bone in his left arm, and it was not yet clear whether he would need surgery for the injury. Hinch said Meadows's injury worried him and remained at a Minneapolis hospital overnight with Meadows.

"Tough blow for him, tough blow for us," Hinch said.

Across 12 games this season, Meadows was 9-for-36 with two RBIs and three stolen bases, starting 11 of Detroit's 13 games. He was batting .250 with two extra-base hits on the year and was 0-for-3 at the plate before the collision.

Meadows, a second-round draft pick by the Tigers in 2018, made his major league debut in 2023.
