Glasgow Warriors defeated the Bulls 25-21 at Scotstoun to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup. Franco Smith's side will face Toulon at Scotstoun next Saturday in their first home quarter-final in the competition.

The match, played in rain and wind, saw Glasgow opt to take lineouts instead of kicking penalty goals on multiple occasions as the hosts pursued tries against a Bulls side that had 14 Springboks in their squad. The Bulls' game plan focused on power, phases, and pressure, and the South African franchise led 14-12 at half-time after a first half in which both teams scored.

Max Williamson and Jack Dempsey crossed for first-half tries for Glasgow. Johan Grobbelaar scored a try for the Bulls, and Handre Pollard kicked three penalties to give the visitors their two-point advantage at the break. Kurt-Lee Arendse left the match at half-time for the Bulls.

Glasgow pulled ahead after the interval through tries from Patrick Schickerling and Stafford McDowall, building an eight-point lead with eight minutes remaining. Matt Fagerson had a chance to extend the advantage but knocked the ball forward when running onto a pass in the Bulls' 22.

Marco van Staden scored a converted try for the Bulls with a few minutes remaining to cut the deficit to a single point. Adam Hastings then kicked a penalty in the final moments to secure Glasgow's four-point victory.

The Bulls had qualified for the Champions Cup knockout rounds despite losing three group matches. The South African side conceded 50 points in a group match against Northampton and 61 points against Bristol, though they fielded hybrid teams in both of those fixtures.
