Ukraine's air force said in an online statement that Russia fired 286 drones at Ukraine overnight and that Ukrainian forces downed 260 of them. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that its forces fired long-range air- and ground-based precision weapons and strike drones at military-industrial and energy facilities used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

A Russian-installed official said Ukrainian forces hit railroad infrastructure and private houses in the Luhansk region, killing a couple and their 8-year-old child. Separately, the Security Service of Ukraine said it used drone strikes to halt production at a metallurgical plant in Alchevsk in the Luhansk region. The service said the strikes damaged blast furnaces, key production workshops, distillation columns, gas pipelines and electrical substations at the plant, which supplies Russia's state tank and railroad car plant, Uralvagonzavod.
