MEMPHIS — An autopsy report prepared by the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center Office of the Medical Examiner states that Tyrin Johnson was shot in the back. A single bullet entered the right side of Tyrin Johnson's back and exited through his upper right chest.
The bullet had a slightly upward trajectory through Tyrin Johnson's body. The autopsy report stated there was no soot, gunpowder stippling, or muzzle imprint around the wound.
According to the autopsy report, Tyrin Johnson was carrying a handgun magazine with rounds. The manner of Tyrin Johnson's death is listed as homicide in the autopsy report. Tyrin Johnson was 20 years old at the time of his death.
No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the shooting. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation stated the investigation is open and ongoing.
