LAUREL — The Parkwood All Stars 10U Baseball Team will compete in the Diamond Youth Baseball League World Series. The tournament will take place in Laurel, Mississippi, a city in Jones County, and games are scheduled to begin on July 30, 2026, running through August 3.
The team earned its spot in the national tournament after a dominant run through state-level competition. On July 12, the Parkwood All Stars defeated Chester County by a score of 16-6. That victory capped a flawless postseason in which they swept the state championship tournament with a 4-0 record. Their success followed a perfect 13-0 regular season, establishing them as one of the top youth teams in the region.
The Parkwood All Stars are scheduled to depart for Mississippi on July 28, two days before the tournament opener. The team includes players Mekhi Curry, J’Khari Whitehorn, Malik Holt, Ace Guthrie, Jacoby Crenshaw, Darick Slaughter Jr., Kodi Ross, Omega Martin, Jaxon Gaines, Ameer Walker, Jace Gaines, and Rudy Lawrence. The coaching staff consists of Pot Jakaway, Centonyeo, and Rodney. Shaquan Peacock serves as the team mom, helping coordinate logistics and support for the players and families.
Parkwood, the organization that fields the team, is a tax-exempt entity. The All Stars are returning to the Diamond Youth Baseball League World Series after finishing third in the tournament during the previous season. Their consistent performance at both the state and national levels highlights the program’s ongoing development of young athletes.
