POLK COUNTY, TEXAS — Cody Allen Laviolette, 36, was arrested on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Onalaska, Texas. He faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful restraint in connection with a criminal investigation that began after the suspicious death of 31-year-old Kelly Taylor Mariah Little.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office launched its investigation on May 23, following Little’s death on May 27. She had been transported by helicopter to a hospital in Conroe the previous day after deputies responded to a report of a medical emergency involving a seizure in the Onalaska area on May 26.

During the investigation, several women reported their interactions with Laviolette to authorities. “During the course of this investigation, multiple witnesses came forward with evidence collected has led investigators to examine the activities of Cody Allen Laviolette,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

Sheriff’s officials also expressed concern that potential witnesses may be hesitant to cooperate. “Investigators have also identified additional individuals who may have information but could be reluctant to come forward because they believe, based on statements allegedly made by Cody, that he is protected by his and his family’s influence in the Onalaska area,” the Facebook post stated.

The sheriff’s office noted that Little leaves behind three children. Authorities are continuing to seek information from the public, urging anyone who may have witnessed criminal activity involving Laviolette or believes they may have been a victim to contact investigators.
