BOSTON — Massachusetts State Police arrested Leonard Bacon on Sunday in connection with a July 10 attack on a rideshare passenger at Logan Airport Terminal C. Bacon, 23, faces a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.

Police took Bacon into custody at a home in Lowell, Massachusetts, where he resides. The arrest followed an investigation into an early-morning incident at Logan International Airport, which has four passenger terminals and is located mostly in East Boston.

On July 10, a rideshare passenger entered Terminal C shortly before 5:30 a.m. and reported to State Police that their driver had physically assaulted them. The victim was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

After dropping off the passenger, the driver left the scene. During radio transmissions, State Police described the incident as a stabbing. Authorities later issued a bulletin asking Massachusetts law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for Bacon’s vehicle, specifically a 2017 Lexus purportedly being driven by him.

Bacon is scheduled to appear in East Boston District Court on Monday. The Massachusetts State Police, an agency of the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, led the investigation and made the arrest.
