PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY — Three people died and one person was hospitalized after a crash between a car and a motorcycle occurred on Maryland Route 301 in Prince George’s County. The incident took place at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Route 301 and Governors Park Lane, near Upper Marlboro.

A black Tesla Model 3 was making a left turn from Route 301 onto Governors Park Lane when it failed to yield the right of way to a southbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle, according to Maryland State Police. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Tesla during the collision.

The rear passenger in the Tesla, the operator of the motorcycle, and a passenger on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased were identified as 48-year-old Matthew Eric Vowell, the motorcycle’s driver; 47-year-old Krystal Ann Vowel, who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle; and 22-year-old Adriana Lanae Maxwell of Glen Burnie, who was seated in the rear of the Tesla.

The driver of the Tesla was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators believe the Tesla was being used as a rideshare vehicle at the time of the crash.
