The proposed rescheduled event would take place between the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix, fitting into the latter part of the 2026 Formula 1 calendar.

The push to restore the race follows heightened regional tensions. On July 12, 2026, sirens sounded in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates overnight from Saturday to Sunday. That same day, Iran reportedly launched missiles and drones toward U.S. targets in the region.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, officially known as the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix for sponsorship reasons, has been part of the Formula 1 calendar since its inaugural race on April 4, 2004, at the Bahrain International Circuit.
