BURBANK — Los Angeles County prosecutors filed one felony count of injuring a cohabitant against Zaire Wade on July 9, 2026. The charge stems from an incident in Burbank that led to Wade’s arrest on June 21, 2026, on suspicion of felony domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, Wade “willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition” on a woman with whom he was in a romantic relationship. Police responded to a residence in Burbank around 5:30 a.m. on June 21 after receiving reports of a woman screaming. Officers found Wade and the woman at the scene, with the woman exhibiting lacerations on her face and body.

Paramedics evaluated the woman on-site but did not transport her to a hospital. Following the arrest, authorities obtained an emergency protective order for the woman, and a handgun was taken from the home. Wade posted a $50,000 bond the same day and was released from jail.

Wade, 24, is scheduled to be arraigned on July 16, 2026, in Pasadena. He is the eldest son of former NBA player Dwyane Wade and was raised by Dwyane and his former wife, Siohvaughn Funches. Zaire Wade played basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles and most recently competed for the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball Africa League.
